The secrets of flavor

R.D. Mayer was one of the first coffee roasting companies in Israel. The company was established as Mayer Coffee in 1938 as a small coffee roasting shop located at 23 Herzl Street, Hadar, Haifa. The coffee shop was set up by Alfred Mayer, an immigrant from Germany, who started a family tradition of roasting and preparing coffee. Over the years the shop became a pilgrimage site for coffee lovers, who could purchase in the small shop fresh, quality roasted and ground coffee in a range of flavors. The special roasting and the outstanding flavor attracted many loyal customers to Mayer Coffee, and the shop at 23 Herzl Street became a leading brand in Haifa’s coffee culture.

   

Over the years, as the shop developed and the product range grew, the central factory was opened, for producing coffee, powders and spices. The 500 square meter factory is located in the Kiryat Hayim industrial estate, and is aimed at producing and marketing products to the institutional market.

• The factory is currently managed by David Walfer, the founder’s grandson.
• Mayer’s products are marketed in Israel and abroad.
• All the products are approved by the Israeli Health Ministry, and are Kosher by Hatam Sofer Bnei Braq.

The purpose of the website

The website was set up in order to enable buyers from the institutional market to easily and conveniently purchase a wide range of quality products in packages and special mixtures tailor-made for the customer – in terms of type, composition and weight, at competitive manufacturer prices.
